Hi David,
Yes, I did try a teeny bit of the inside of the rind - and trust me, it was bitter! Looking at my reaction nobody else was game to try!
The fruit is grown in Cairns and Queensland - I am just surprised we are getting it now, in winter! Whats available in the stores now are probably imported but I am not sure.
